Tom Cruise is gearing up to step back into the racing world as he reprises his role as Cole Trickle in a sequel to the 1990 film Days of Thunder. The much-anticipated sequel is slated for release on June 2, 2028, promising to bring the fast-paced excitement of NASCAR to theaters once more.
The announcement was made by Cruise at the iconic Daytona International Speedway, just before NASCAR’s regular-season finale. Joining him in the sequel is Anne Hathaway, who will take on the role of a team owner and engineer, adding a fresh dynamic to the storyline.
In addition to starring in the film, Cruise will co-produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper, with Jonathan Levine set to direct.
